Vuosiäänestyksen tulokset – 2003
Ensimmäisen vuosiäänestyksen tulos ei varsinaisesti yllättänyt. Puerto Rico ja Carcassonne kamppailivat pitkään tasaväkisinä, mutta lopulta Puerto Rico vei voiton aika selvälläkin erolla. Vanhemmat klassikot Settlers of Catan ja El Grande seurasivat perässä. Osallistujamäärä oli parhaita odotuksiani suurempi, siitä kiitos kaikille osallistujille. 125 äänestäjää antoi yhteensä 760 ääntä 222 eri pelille.
Perinteisempien pelien sarjan voitti kirkkaasti go. Yhden äänen keränneiden pelien joukossa onkin sitten runsaasti hajontaa, muun muassa varsin laaja joukko erilaisia raskaita sotapelejä. Kärkijoukko on varsin tuttua ja turvallista. Jos ensimmäisten kymmenenkin pelin joukossa on outoja nimiä, suosittelen ehdottomasti tutustumaan!
Monet uudet pelit saivat ääniä, mutta myös vanhemmat suosikit. Pelien keski-ikä oli 9 vuotta, eli keskimääräinen peli on ilmestynyt vuonna 1994. Keskiarvoa laskettaessa ei tosin huomioitu laisinkaan todella vanhoja pelejä, kuten go, shakki ja backgammon. Äänestäjistä voisi sanoa sen verran, että huomattavan miespuolista joukkoahan se.
